Faced with one of the largest protest movements in Lebanon, Prime Minister Saad Hariri announced on Tuesday that he would present the resignation of his government.

“I am going to Baabda Palace to present the government’s resignation to the President of the Republic,” Saad Hariri said in a brief television address, greeted by the cheers of the crowd who were listening to him live at the rally sites.

For the past thirteen days, the Lebanese have been protesting against the entire political class. They accuse the government of corruption and mismanagement of public affairs, the budget, and state money.
